it won't start. What do I do now?
A. Re-install
Photo Org. However, before installing, verify that your PC
meets the minimum system requirements recommended to install
and run Photo Org. After re-installing, make sure you have
closed all other applications before launching Photo
Org.
Q. How do I get images from my
digital camera?
A. Photo Org
directly accepts photos from the Canon Power Shot 600 and
Casio QV series digital cameras and input from any
TWAIN-compliant digital camera.
If you are importing photos using a
TWAIN-compliant digital camera, you must first connect the
cable from your camera to your computer. Refer to your
camera's user guide. Second, select the Get Photos from Camera
button. In the Option dialog box, select the model of digital
camera you are using. If your camera is not listed, re-install
the software that shipped with the camera. Select
OK.
The camera's TWAIN interface now controls the process. Follow the instructions provided by the camera's TWAIN interface.
In the Create New Roll of Film dialog box, do one of the following:
The new Roll of Film will appear in the
Film Navigator. The photos will appear in the Film View
area.
If you are using a Canon Power Shot 600
or Casio QV series digital camera, Photo Org accesses images
directly from the camera. Select the Get Photos from Camera
button. In the Options dialog box, select Direct Support. From
the Source drop-down list, select the model of digital camera
you are using. Select OK.
Q. I placed an image in my Album,
but it is too big. How do I edit it?
A. To edit a
photo, you must first select it. Then select the Photo Editor
button on the tool bar or drag the photo to the Photo Editor
button. Double-clicking on the photo will activate the Photo
Editor, also. The photo appears in the Photo Editor window.
Use the tools on the tool bar to edit, erase, magnify, draw,
change colors, save and exit. Selecting F1 activates help and displays an explanation of the tool functions.
If the image is too large to view within
the Photo Editor window, you will need to resize it before
editing. Follow these steps: Select the photo. Then, select
one of the black "handles" and drag the photo horizontally,
vertically, or diagonally until it is the size you want. Photo
Org maintains the aspect ratio of a photo when you resize using this method.
You can also resize a photo by specifying
a specific size. Right click on the photo to select it and
choose Resize Photo from the menu. In the Resize Photo dialog
box, enter the specific settings you desire.
Q. I changed my photo, but I don't like it. Can I change it back to the way it was?
A. If you have
edited a photo and don't want to keep the changes, select the
Undo button. Your last action is reversed. Remember, you must
select Undo before you perform another action.
You can also delete the image from the
Album and reinsert it from the Roll of Film. Select the source
Roll of Film and drag the photo from the Film View Area to the
Album View Area. The Roll of Film contains the original,
unedited image.
Q. Why do I get an error message
when I try to scan my images?
A. Verify that
you have properly set preferences before scanning. On the
Options tool bar, select the Options button. Go to the Scanner
tab. Identify your scanner. From the Source drop-down list,
select the driver for your scanner.
If you want to fetch more than one file
at a time, select the Enable Multiple Photo Acquire checkbox.
Remember, if you select this option, you must manually exit
the TWAIN software after you retrieve all photos.

Q. Photo Org is asking for the FTP address. What do I do now?
A. If you are
publishing your Web page to your own Web server, you need to
enter the FTP (file transfer protocol) address, the
destination directory, your user name and password. The FTP
address is the location of the Web server. If you do not know
the address of the server you are using, contact your Internet
Service Provider to obtain this information, or select Publish
to the Photo Org Public Web Server.
If you are publishing your Web page to
the Photo Org server, you will be prompted to register and
agree to the on-line usage license the first time you use this
site. The Photo Org Public Web server can notify your friends
that your Album has been posted.
Q. My thumbnail images appear black. How do I correct this?
A. You will need
to change your screen resolution setting to 15-bit color. If
the images still appear black, try another resolution setting
(e.g. 24-bit or 256 colors). Refer to Windows on-line help to change screen resolution.
If the problem persists, the system
resources may be low. Restart Windows. Close any applications
that you currently have running. Start Photo Org.
